I'll have some photos this weekend, but I thought I'd post here before putting it up on Ebay on Sunday.
Here's the copy I intend to use on the 'Bay:
Guild D212 1980 Westerly Rhode Island Built 12 string Guitar
SERIAL # AA100422..Guild sets the standard for 12 string guitars, and this is one of its' great examples.
If you're looking for a solid guitar, with great action and wonderful tone and don't mind some very minor play wear, please continue reading. This is a solid spruce top Dreadnought with mahogany sides and an arched mahogany back for incredible projection. The top is nice and flat with no bellying or bulging. The mahogany neck is thin, fast and straight. No buzzing anywhere. This guitar is very comfortable and a joy to play. Rosewood fretboard is in great shape . Rosewood bridge is solidly attached, with no signs of lifting. Arched back provides plenty of projection, and great sustain. This guitar sounds very rich and full, with nicely balanced bass, mid and treble tones. Action is 2/16" at the 12th fret, measured at the bass E string, and intonation is very good up and down the neck. If you're looking for a true player, this one is for you. Hard shell case is included in the sale.
This guitar is stamped "Factory Second." I was told that it was because the Sunburst finish was shot too dark; that may be- I can find no defect on the guitar, and I've done some very thorough looking! I speculate that the serial number indicates that this may be a pre-production guitar, since the D212 was officially produced only in 1981, 1982 and 1983 and the production runs consisted of 444 D212's in 1982 and 366 in 1983, the production run would have had to be at least 663 units in 1981 for this to be that model year, which seems unlikely.
