Given a Guild from 1985 with a nut that looks like this, what would you say it's made of?

I would assume the saddle is the same materiel?

GAD:
My '84 D46 has same nut and saddle material with same patina.
I like the sound of mine. And that was a nice gift. 2019 is gonna be a great year.

Older Taylor guitars have that same color nut and saddle - looks like they smoke a pack a day.

Fossilized phlegm! Sounds amazing, and the fossilized stuff is gluten-additive-hormone and antibiotic free, free range too!

Way off tune here but and old farmer gave me some excellent advice, when I was a young basketball coach, that served me well throughout a 40 year teaching and coaching career. It was going to have to be done--replacing my assistant coach that I inherited a year earlier when I accepted the job. And I quote the old farmer, "when you have to eat a turd, don't nibble."
