One of the huge benefits of writing all those reviews is that people find them when researching the rare piece of gear they have and then contact me asking if I want to buy it. That's how I got the Blade Runner, and that's how I got this Timberline G500!

This is only the third one I've seen with AcornHouse's being one of the other two. I managed to connect with the guy that designed all of the Timberline Amps and he doesn't even know anything about these G500s. I cannot wait to tear this one open and you know there's an awesome restoration coming!

It's naked! :eek-new:

Engoy, GAD.

If you mean no tolex, in the vast sample size of three that I know of, yours is now the outlier having tolex and a different face plate. Maybe yours is special!

Is that why it came in a short bus?

Interesting that the G500 model didn't use the G shield knobs like the other models did.

Chris, if you're not using the original knobs I'll buy them off of you!

This is his amp from my Blog - a pic he was kind enough to take for me.

Well, I guess I misremembered. I don't have G-shields. (I blame Photobucket. Unless I pay them $300, they won't let me access my memory.)

Exactly that's why I was wondering! Because also the 0-10 numbers and probably the description for the knobs on the front panel would be hidden under the larger diameter G-Shield knobs.

By whatever reason the G-500 was obviously designed for such generic small diameter knobs from the beginning.

Compare to the G-Shield knob design on the G-300 (using GAD's picture):

The G-1000 also uses the "Randall" knobs.

Your knobs look the same, just color coordinated.

(Although you are missing some end caps!)

Man, the cabinet on this one is rough but it's gonna look nice when I'm done with it! I'm surprised the grill and faceplate are so clean given the rest of the wear. Now I just need to find some of those damn knobs. And one of those handle covers.
