    Today's Visitor

Pileated Woodpecker. I see them from time to time and they are quite large - easily 1.5 feet from beak to tail.

BTW for those that care those are taken with a Canon 5D Mark III with a 400mm f/5.6L lens with a 1.6x TC which is the same setup I used for the eclipse pics.

Cool shot, slap a spoonful of peanut butter next to the pecked place, they love it, but so do the squirrels. I hang my bird treats on a tree.

Joe makes an occasional comment on Facebook and does post there. I have not seen him here in a bit. Maybe he'll chime in?

Very nice, we don't get them downunder but here's a shot of a Crimson Rosella I took last week. He's in a Rosemary bush in my garden.

Nice stuff. We really don't get much colorful birds . here. Black ravens and , brown sparrows and finches. Some groups of vultures that circle in the updrafts. A few red tail and kestrel hawks. Oh and a rare to see barn owl. All browns and black.
