That's quite a collection! You can use the "search" on top to find different brands.

Lots of stuff. Including a several Guilds.

Some of those starting prices are downright enticing. Surely those items will be going for A LOT MORE than what the current bid is....

The 1966 sunburst Starfire V looks like it's seen some serious playing time! And, I like the 1958 F-20 with an arched maple back. I haven't seen too many of those.

Get Thee Behind Me Satan. I got so excited I was searcing for Aristera's signature list of guitars before I slapped my forehead and uttered, "duh."

Interesting. The estimates for items where I had an informed opinion seemed quite reasonable. It's almost like they are not expecting a premium based upon provenance.

I also look at the listings and I cannot imagine owning all of those things. More to the point, why? Is there a collecting instinct at work that I can't decipher or was he searching for something he never found or did he get free samples or...?

28% ... Plus packing and shipping which will not be a bargain. Nice stuff though.

All of the above?

Rick Nielsen invites the American Pickers to have first dibs on his "stuff":

Speaking of American Pickers, have you ever seen some of the places they find?:

To be fair they don't always seek out rabid collectors ready to finally liquidate; some of their sources are just whimsical folks who bought anything that struck their fancy without regard to a specialty, and often the 'Story" behind the piece is as important as the piece itself.
Something that brings us back to a happy childhood's a big recurring theme.
That one'd explain a lot of the collectible toy market, and possibly a bit of what motivates some members here, perhaps?

Day two towards the end has also a lot of special electronic items. Just imagine the warehouse space for all the amplifiers alone! It's amazing how one person can collect so much stuff!

It's not hard to imagine, he may not have even touched/seen/known of some of these items. It doesn't mean he didn't drive a truck.

Yeah and then he had to hear "NO" about 10 times before Rick would sell him something.

Holy Cow! That is an insane smorgasbord of gear. So many temptations. I have a feeling that there will be an insane amount of eyes on this stuff, including famous celebrity collectors with deep pockets. I'm even interested in some of the simple no-name scraps. :chuncky:

28% premium-
So a winning bid of a $2000 would wind up near $2700 - you actually pay - to get item to your address in lower 48. Think my ego will pass.

Yeah, that's the BUYER'S fee; I wonder about the seller's fee? 30-40%?

I bet the buyer’ s fee is a lot less - like 15% or lower. I’ve sold through auctions before. It varies by auction house but often the seller fee is less, especially with a large number of items like this.
