..."the cut away has been trimmed down to allow full access to the higher frets"..

When you think of all those times you wanted to make a full barre chord at the 24th fret, it makes total sense.

I vote for "funny" because it made me laugh out loud.

My guess is 20 drill holes and a coping saw.

A little sanding, a little red sharpie, and that guitar will look as good as new!

We are often aghast at modifications folks make. You would think if the owner actually cared about the instrument they would have done exactly that.

Was this a $100 guitar or a $500 or...

This is what happens to us when we spend too much time outside in the summer. A little Bondo and some red Krylon and no one would know....

What kills me is they did this to a Real American Made PRS, Not an overseas made PRS "P.O.S." but a real one. I have said it before and I'll say it again, You can't fix Stupid!

Sure you can. As we said, sanding, sharpie, bondo, or krylon. Maybe all four! That guitar could be “old El Camino on blocks in the front yard” good in no time!

I for one think it takes a great deal of testicular fortitude to dive into a project like this.. and in the end he achieved his goal of providing more fret access.. Who am I to argue :) Now he just needs to route in a third pick up and his work is done..
Seriously though this guy should be punched in the mouth...

On the other hand you might consider he's improving the value of the not-modified examples . . .

It would be interesting to see other examples of his handy work.
