I'm not planning on it as my bridge is fine but just in case of any need in the future.... are there any other bridge options for these Mullers? What is the bridge and fretboard radius on the early models? Is the Schaller roller bridge interchangeable? Thank you.

I agree. I just noticed on mine that the G saddle is so far back to the edge of the bridge that there is no spring on that one. Is that an issue? I'm new to mullers.

I've seen those bridges with hardware store machine screws holding the rollers in place. I don't think you'll miss that spring.

Müller roller bridge springs should be still available from Ken Nash: http://www.theguitarmechanic.com/muller.html
Ralf

Thank you. I asked Ken what version of the Muller bridge the early reissues had and he was fairly adamant that they were not Mullers but were either schaller, gotoh,or abm. Maybe he's not aware of what they were using on the S100 line at that time. It sure looks like a Muller to me.

I've had some rather intense discussions with him where he's firmly believed things that historically accurate. If you want to know correct details like that, ask Hans.

Thanks GAD..I sent him a pic of the bridge. He wrote back and was surprised. He didn't remember them using those bridges and he was there at that time. So it must have been a very limited amount of units that were fitted with the Muller. Have you ever taken off the backplate to see it JT signed and dated it like he did on my #002 and Hammers #003? Mine is 12/3/93. I bet yours is late 93' as well.

Does anyone know if these early reissues of the 90's use the third/last version of the Muller? I assume they are them.

Lots of detail including pic of the cavity and the bridge: https://www.gad.net/Blog/2018/03/13/1994-guild-s-100-polara/

My 1994 date comes from Hans which if memory serves is the date it was logged in a book or left the factory or something along those lines.

The first few S100s look to me to have used HB1s and Mueller bridges and they changed to more off the shelf parts shortly thereafter.

As always, Hans knows best.

to see it JT signed
Jeffrey Tougas was one of the "neck fitters" in Westerly from 1986 to 2001, he signed many bodies/necks in the truss rod cavity and the potentiometer chamber. He signed my year 2000 Bluesbird as well.

Thanks GAD and Ralf.

I've got the 93' dialed in and set up and it's a breeze to play. It's condition amazes me, as if it left Westerly yesterday.

I like the red one. Ooh - and the white one! I had a GOTW SG for a while with that layout. Killer guitar:

Thx. The white one is one of the 2011? 60s Tributes that I dressed up a bit. I drooled a bit over that GotW way back when.

Thanks for the thread links! She's a beauty for sure. I wonder what happened to the case on yours? I also wonder why Guild went from a form fitting case for the S100 like came with #002 to the rectangle version. Did you ever find a suitable case?

I don't have a direct answer, but I can tell you after processing too many catalogs that Guild in the '90s offered multiple case options for some electrics. For example the X2000 says, "Also available with a deluxe hard case (XC42P or C4529).

My S100 #004 came in what looks like a Nightbird case which has never looked quite right to me so I don't know if there were multiple case options or if they just used whatever cases were available at first.

Yup. The white 94 I have with the repaired headstock sacrificed its case, so that the 003 might be protected in period correct fashion!

Somebody has one of those upscale S100 prototypes that has the G shield inlay on the headstock and the corresponding upscale fretboard inlays and bound headstock which I think is the smaller Guild style. Has anyone else seen this?

I'm not talking about that overseas made thing that was floating around. This was a genuine Westerly S100 Premier or something of that nature. I saw the pictures of at least one. I imagine Hans would know.
