Hey all! I couldn't resist cherry-picking this sweet little git. The seller even cut me a price reduction.

A side note; by taking it off Reverb instead of Ebay I saved another hundred bucks on sales tax. I imagine Reverb will catch up before long, but anytime I can slip in and sleaze a break I'm there.

I've owned a couple short scale versions but finally found the long neck I'm looking for. My dentist will have to wait for his boat payment money.

Oh yeah...I forgot. YEEEEHAAA!

Congrats!!!! Looks really nice. I had this on my watch list and came close but never pulled the trigger. Good on you. Reverb does collect sales tax for a few states. They'll likely all get there in time.

Congrats, Jezdep. Looks really nice.

Not getting the Shawshank reference, though...??

Referring to a return to the 'prison' of G.A.S. I really felt I had broken the chains and satiated my need for a varied little collection of guitars until this popped up. I should really just lighten up and quit pretending there's an end to the process.

I'm happy the seller used the 3 on a plate Kluson repros. If I recall, both of my other 60's M65's had single line closed back machines.

Congrats on a nice guild Jedzep! Shouldn't this be posted in the archtop/hollowbody section instead of the Acoustic/Acoustic electric section though?

Just saw your post on the Gibson forum, and thought you were maybe going for something close to an ES-125. Didn't realize you'd owned a couple of these before - very cool!

Yup, Shawshank for sure. Last guitar purchase was almost a year ago & I've been feeling pretty good about it - so why do I keep window shopping? I doubt that any of us will ever stay out of prison for good!

I see dentists are just as annoyingly expensive in Denmark as in the USA. I saw a Porsche Carrera in Philadelphia many years ago on I-95 blowing past me. It had a vanity license plate: CAVITY.

Big thanks, boys! No buyers remorse here, but it's nice to get the extra push provided by your appreciation for a good find.

Does anyone have a guess regarding the PU? Seller doesn't know and I can't find any similar year M65's with the chrome. Could it be a StewMac?

Electric guitars have come in and out of here, and I've struggled to bond with and justify having them, so I did give up on the idea that I needed to have one around, even if it was going to be easier on my hands as I age. The short scale blond M65 I bought, sold, re-bought, and re-sold had the inch and 9/16 nut that I ultimately couldn't adjust to, and again, the bloom came off the rose. All of the others felt overly large and/or heavy.

Thankfully, this long scale Guild snapped that streak. The low action, extra neck length and wider nut bestow a refreshingly sleek quality to my playing. What a joy to handle. Whatever modern Franz style PU copy was added has a full range of voicings through my old Fender Princeton, but the clincher is I just can't put it down.

Guess I had unsubscribed from 'Archtops/Hollowbods' as I see my new guitar popped up in Walrus' 'Pickup on '64 M65' thread.

You're right about this pickup. It's got guts.

Apologies if I stole this guitar from one of you procrastinators.

Sorry to read GAD's 'bummer' thread. Glad it turned out to be a 'long neck' and your final price was redeeming, at least.

Re-subscribed.

Small world.
