Guild very briefly flashed some DeArmond 2000 (or "dynasonics" if you prefer) on instagram recently, and I'd heard before the were working on those. So those are a pretty safe bet. about time too - Cordoba owns the DeArmond trademark, and you can get non- dearmond replicas from three or four different sources already..

Do they own the whole trademark, Walter, or just for the "monkey on a stick" pickup?

Huh! How does that effect Gretsch? DeA's are pretty much their thing for the past couple of decades.

Eljay, are they actually going to introduce anything at summer NAMM? Years past, under Fender, winter NAMM was their focus with Guild. Anyway, I hope they do!

the whole thing
Here's the official confirmation: https://trademark.trademarkia.com/dearmond-75853648.html
And what CMG currently owns: https://www.trademarkia.com/company-cordoba-music-group-inc-3852538-page-1-2

Actually the 2019 catalog was talking about "forthcoming re-releases of original designs" regarding DeArmond pickups.
They could tool up in Oxnard for Winter NAMM 2020 to bring out a Doyle Dykes Starfire III signature model with DeArmonds as hybrid from Korean whitewood parts and assembled in Oxnard with NC lacquer? Just thinking...

Good eye Dave! They are indeed new, they were not even on the webpage yesterday as far as I remember!

1) Aristocrat HH in Trans Black Burst:

- Chambered Solid Body
- Carved Flame Maple Top
- Pau Ferro fingerboard
- Guild HB-2 Humbuckers (!!!!) What the heck is this? First I though correctly wound LB-1s but GAD indicated "Standard size" means "like standard humbuckers". So they save buying SD pickups and use new BHK made pickups most probably (maybe even BHC made). Standard also means only one screw on each side, no tilt adjustment like on HB-1s.
"Based on their vintage oversized cousin, the HB-1, the HB-2 Standard sized Alnico II humbuckers give this guitar the perfect sonic platform for rock, R&B and every genre in between."
- Made at Yako in China

2) Aristocrat P90 in Vintage Sunburst:

- Chambered Solid Body
- Carved Flame Maple Top
- Pau Ferro fingerboard
- Guild Franz P90 Soapbar
- Made at Yako in China

Very interesting is this:

3) STARFIRE II ST DYNASONIC in ROYAL BROWN:

With the addition of dual DeArmond Dynasonic pickups—single coil pickups first created by DeArmond in the 1940s and long revered for their innovation and incredible tone—this guitar brings sweet highs and rich, full lows to the Starfire family.

- Starfire II ST with DeArmond Dynasonic Gold and Black pickups
- same 3 pcs. neck with the triangle TRC like on the normal Starfire II ST
- bound fingerboard
- Made at SPG in Korea

4) STARFIRE IV ST LEFTY in BLACK:

The HB2 looks to be a standard-sized HB1 according to that text. I'd bet doing that would let them reuse parts from other pickups and thus lower costs.

The DeArmond SFII looks interesting!

Whoever of the CMG marketing persons came out with HB-2 name should read old Guild literature as the HB-2 was the bass pickup!

and a Starfire with Dearmonds. Can't believe they're calling them Dynasonics, that's the Gretsch catalog term for DeArmonds, ánd they have black bobbin tops instead of the white Guilds always had. Hello Cordoba folks?

edit : "Dynasonic" is not just the Gretsch nomenclature for the DeArmond 2000 pickup, if you look at the Gretsch website, the word even has "TM" next to it everywhere. It would be pretty hilarious if CMG, who own the Dearmond trademark, would get a cease and desist from Gretsch for the Dynasonic name. It would actually serve them right for not doing their homework.

They already brought back the F40 in a bigger and better version of the original didn't they?
