hello

Spmeone in France is selling this one

https://www.ebay.de/itm/GUILD-S-300...991230?hash=item4202edf6fe:g:DcAAAOSwrGlb0JTo

It has a Bolt-On-Neck like this

Is that supposed to be an early prototype ?

Or is it just a cleverly made fake?

Seems he's been trying to sell it for some time . . .

I would not expect a bolt on neck either. It could be a prototype or it could be some kind of repair. The plate might cover some messy woodwork or stabilize a loose joint. Serial number might help resolve some of that.

Also don't think the case is a Guild case.

Translation says
A non-original case of hardwood very protective comes with.

and
serial number: 1478xx

The neck back is flat quite far before the body - so it must be something fishy.

I seem to barely recall something about Guilds with bolt on necks...can't quite pull it out of mothballs...either someone with good search foo like Ralf will have to pull it out of the past...or Hans will have to chime in.

There have been reports and pictures of S300 with screwed on necks. I've seen pictures of one in the past. I think there was a report of a S250 having a screwed on neck also.
