Steinbergers are cool! Mine came with three tops: a black one with three single-coil cutouts (filled with Evans pickups and attached to the body); a second black one with two HB cutouts and a white one with the same HB cutouts. The guitar has been all over the globe with me as it fits in my travel duffel and is basically indestructable.

Same hemisphere? It's probably within 50 miles of you!

Actually, the guitar was always in the same (northern) hemisphere.

I’m on m way home (planes are better than trains) and am looking forward to some quality time with these guitars.

Took me an hour to get a pleasing sound out of the X4000 because it doesn't have a tone control! The "tone" knob is actually an EMG EQ... thing... that is essentially a scooped mid control. In fact, this guitar appears to have three different EMG toys built into it that I think I've finally got figured out. There's a learning curve with this guitar and I'm not quite convinced that it's capable of sounding as good as it looks, but I'm a lot closed than I was an hour ago when I couldn't get it to sound good at all.

The guitar also has a PA2 boost which has the boost pot maxed so that sounded *terrible*! Thankfully that's adjustable.

It still gives me the "evolution of the Liberator Elite" vibe, and it's definitely put together a bit more logically, but it's still got a pretty extreme neck angle (which I haven't actually measured yet).

This is a fun one to research!
