Gibson has been perplexing people with their serial number system since Orville was alive. I'm just getting into Guilds. I guess now I got a new learning curve.

I'd rather see it with a maple neck and an ebony bridge.

Canada .... brrr
I think that it's actually called "F 512 Maple" though the error in the text is
Formerly the F-512, this USA-made jumbo has been a staple of the Guild line since the late 1960’s.
where it should be F 412. Interestingly, the demo video that links to the product page still refers to the F 412. They will need to do some site cleaning.

I guess it sort of puts it in line with the F-50 and F-50R nomenclature.

Not sure if that is old news but hey....
Yes, a bit old news, the new name was first shown back in January 2015, so it took a while to have a F-512 Maple in production!

Here's the Winter NAMM 2015 flyer, see lower right corner):

Well, the New Hartford guys used to say that one big barrier to selling new Guilds was the (relatively inexpensive) used Guild market. Guilds remain exceptionally good used values, and the situation continues.

Don't sell your F-412; play it! :) :)

I do now that the humidity in the house is back in positive numbers. Kinda nice to see some old friends besides refilling their in case humidification devices every few weeks.

I remember TxBumper saying something to the effect to me that this part of the country is the best for guitars to soak up all that Great Lakes humidity for three seasons.

Excellent. Same here, beecee. Windows are starting to open, etc. Good time to get the axes out of their cases.

Funny, just as we're talking about outside air, RH drops to 25% this afternoon in my music room. I don't worry much because humidity changes on a daily basis around here, but I do get a little nervous when it gets that dry.
