Hey Walrus,

You kid me right? I"m a converted folky to jazz. I am in awe of the jazz style and imagine (it's probably a dream to keep me going at 72) that I can acquire some jazz guitar skills before I transition to another universe.

IMHO, no. I think it's two different kinds of guitarists, with two different skill sets. Each genius in their own way. George is not going to be able to do the jazz fills he's doing without Chet's beautiful accompaniment.

Yep, they're playing sympatico. George is a natural frontman while Chet is a superb accompanist. Both can take on the other roll excellently too, of course.

Benson is a wonderful jazz shredder when it happens, and Chet plays more bends, like I do.

Dang, I didn't realize how much Chet copied my style ;-)

I can't play like George, therefore... I don't want to?
