X160 sounds right, but isn't more of an "amber" color than blonde? Whatever it is, I like it!

This year 2000 made X-160 Rockabilly is owned by LTG member "alsendk" (Allan) in Copenhagen, Denmark! He had explained that the previous owner Andre- a very skilled Rockabilly guitarist, switched the original DeArmond Model 2000`s to a pair of P90... wound by a danish Luthier, to satisfy his need for twang. alsendk said they actually sound fantastic. The neck pickup is wired to 8,76 Kohm, so it might not be that far from an ordinary P90 - sound wise. Andre`s aim was to get the sound of Scotty Moore.

And that's not a homemade pickguard but an original pickguard blank after silkscreening the Guild logo on it but before getting the black paint on the back of it!
Example from the 60s, the one on that guitar you posted is obviously newer.

This X-160 was previously owned by LTG member "alsendk" !

Example from the 60s, the one on that guitar you posted is actually how it came from the factory after 1997 I believe.

fascinating. but it looks strangely white - could be scratches. Did all X160s come with clear pickguards?

Incidentally, I recently posted an ad for an orange X160 rockabilly in Germany with P90s but I don't recall if it had a clear pickguard. It's now gone and pictures are down, so I can't check: http://www.letstalkguild.com/ltg/showthread.php?198362-THREE-rare-rockabilly-Guilds-in-Europe

I guess the scratchplate is just... scratched!
Sunlight can damage plexiglas to get milky. Not sure that is the case here. Because I found a X-150 (AK150693, 90 serial numbers after the other one) that seems to have also such milky pickguard, but without Guild silkscreened on it. I have no idea if they came from the factory like this in year 2000. Hans could tell.
