    Color of the Year

In light of an uptick in posts about finish colors recently, this one caught my attention, Pantone Color Institute's "Color of the Year":
    https://www.cnn.com/2019/01/03/cnn-u...ored-smartfeed
    "Living Coral":

Look for it everywhere, and when you've had enough, you know who to blame.
Somehow this makes me think it's not gonna be such a hot year.

    Ohhhhh yeah....."Pantene".....I shoulda got that!

I meant I never heard of Barf Shampoo.

However in another one of those cases in which humor unintentionally reflects reality, I submit this anecdote from the usual source:
"In 2012, the color of the year, Tangerine Tango, was used to create a makeup line, in partnership with Sephora.[25] The product line, named Sephora + Pantone Universe collection, features Tangerine Tango–embellished false lashes; nail lacquers, cream, glitters, and high-pigment lip glosses.[26] "

You sir are a very strange man.
So I submit for your viewing pleasure some of the previous Colors of the Year (and Dreadnut I advise you to look away):

    Mimosa, 2009

    Marsala, 2015

    Greenery, 2017

I've not been able to corroborate the urban myth that the Institute was founded by the creator of the notorious "Avocado Green" that was such a hit on home kitchen appliances in the '70's, but it seems a likely bet.

Great '50 car color! Looks good on a Strat or a P-Bass, too.

Yep, straight from a '57 Ford Crown Vic, two-tone with white.
But personally don't think I'd want it on my guitar.
    Maybe the "Mimosa", though.
