Looks like sileage actually, probably mostly sorghum.

My uncle owned quite a large dairy farm when I was a kid, that's where we got our calves. Ya gotta keep the cows pregnant to keep them giving milk. We took some of the males, made steers out of them and raised them for beef.

Was talking about the cows on our family farm in Tennessee--eating lots of hay--not in the picture. And not a good thing to be born a male calf on a dairy farm--bye bye.
