Update: I'm really enjoying this guitar. Great tonal balance for me - good bass and top, not excessive middle. The only thing I'm not liking? The Grovers suck. Lots of sloppy slippage. I've always been more of a Schaller fan. Can they be improved?

I love Schallers too, but I've never had a problem with Grovers.

That will be the upgrade. Lockers make life with a Bigsby much better!

"Alternatively, you could just go the ultra-relic route with it. Basically go for a look that says the amp was on fire and they put it out using belt sanders."
    (amps - I need a "99" & "50")

Do the actual pegs lock from any movement or does it just lock the string down?

    I have these:
    https://www.grotro.com/Grover/2154a941-6e5d-484f-a28c-2640779e7038/LOCKING-ROTOMATICS/Roto-Grip-Locking-Rotomatics-502-Series
They lock the string on the post, so there are close to zero windings. and the are tighter and faster than the 501's.
I like them. Same with the Gotoh Version I have on the T-400 btw.

Are you concerned that the tuners are "unwinding" the string? Or do the pegs feel loose?

My beef with Rotomatics isn't about stability (they're fine) but feel. I can never get a sense of how much I need to turn a tuning key to get x amount of pitch change.

My '71 S-100 has a set of '50s-era Grover Sta-Tites on it via the guy I bought it from. They're fantastic! Super stable and very precise. I wish the newer ones, while okay, were this good.
