I'm posting this because it's beautiful music and also relates to my childhood. I think this lady is a genius!! "I only hit, until you cry. After that you don't ask why......"

Why I was never a parent. Not that I'd ever abuse but it's just more than I can imagine from MY childhood. I got beat up a lot .... especially when I was young.

Thing is, this is a beautiful song and I love her playing her GUILD!!!!

So we celebrate this beautiful music. I touches my heart..... <3

Methinks that must be the rare F42 described by Hans, here:
http://www.letstalkguild.com/ltg/sh...at-Guild-did-Suzanne-Vega-use-the-first-years
Even I forgot such a model existed.
He even makes an objection similar to my own about Oxnard calling an F48 an F40:
Don't want to beat a dead horse but:
Why would they call a model an F-40, when it has mahogany back & sides while the original F-40, that it was more or less modelled after, had maple back & sides?
Why would they call a model an F-47, when it has maple back & sides while the original F-47, that it was more or less modelled after, had mahogany back & sides?
Questions ........ questions!
Sincerely,
Hans Moust

....and even says modern F47's really have very little to do with the originals...yikes!
Gonna have to edit my "F40 Lovers Unite" thread.

Tom, I don't think I ever knew you were a Suzanne fan!

My first was 99.9f; there's a thank you shout-out to one "Vinnie Marrasco at Guild Guitars" in the credits.
It was one of those albums I bought on the strength of hearing one song: "Blood Makes Noise"

Thanks for all the private responses. I realize i'm not alone and it's great to hear other's stories, although they're heart wrenching. But we're all recovering from SOMETHING, so i think it's okay. What a great group...... <3

Hey, Tom. We have never met, but I know you well enough from this forum to be able to say, without reservation, that you are one brave dude!

Everyone has stuff in their past that still hurts. I know I do. But it is easier to keep hidden.

Here are the lyrics to a song I wrote about it:

On the outside, things are looking good
Got my ducks in a row
On the outside, I am confident
Everywhere that I go

But on the inside, things are different
I got moments of anger and doubt
On the inside I’m bruised and dented
But on the outside, it’s appearances that count

I’m just trying to get along with myself
Trying to get along with myself
Don’t know how much time I have left
To try to make things right with myself

We all got secrets we try to hide
We all got issues we stuff way down inside
We’ve all done things that we aren’t proud of
We’ve all hurt the people that we love

And there are times when we can be
Our own worst enemy
I’ve been trying to cut myself a break
I’m only human, for heaven’s sake

I’m just trying to get along with myself
Trying to get along with myself
Don’t know how much time I have left
To try to get things right with myself

So sorry to hear that, Tom, that's a painful thing to live through and with. Music definitely helps heal pain of all different varieties.
