While playing my '73 F-12 and NH '13 F-412 I've noticed some differences in the headstocks and consequently the effect on tuning and playing.
'73 dimensions: across the top from tip to tip just above the "Guild" name: 3 and 1/4"
'12 dimensions: 3 and 9/16"
'73 dimensions: from top to nut 8 and 5/8"
'12 dimensions: 9"
'73 nut: 1 and 3/4"
'12: 1 and 7/8"

Clearly the '73 is narrower and shorter, plus the nut is more narrow as well.
The '73's tuners are closer together and a little challenging to turn for my fat fingers.
The '73's string distances are closer as well, making it a little more challenging to play.

Note: I miss-typed the date of my F-412 in the title of the posting.
