Great photo. Great artist. Hard to believe it’s been a year.

Doesn't seem like a year, that's for sure...

Love that photo, thanks! That guitar looks well-travelled.

Mav, thanks for posting that. Great photo of one of the rock n roll greats of all time,
and a wonderful guitar too.
I owned '81 D212-M for about a year, just parted with it recently - can you guess
why I bought it :love-struck:

My '81 D-212 is a tobacco burst. I have had it almost a decade, which in Neal's "guitar years" is more like 70.

Cougar, there's a cut-down & hacked up mini-stand behind the guitar - I just position the
camera until the stand is pretty much hidden. Not one of my better photos, picked
up all kinds of weird pink-ish corona. Lovely guitar, got it right after Petty passed
away - thought I'd keep forever as a tribute to Petty, but then ran into someone
who was looking for this exact guitar, and ended up selling it to them. Took a $$ loss on it
but so what -worth every penny for the time I had it, definitely felt and sounded right strumming
Petty tunes!
Then... bought another one, very similar, not in as good a shape or quite as
good a player as this one was, still have it.

Can just see a little bit of the stand in this photo -deeper body
of an acoustic guitar hides the stand completely most of the time.

Clyde - thanks - fwiw, here are the two D212-M's together.
Slightly better color, adjusted viewing angle and adjusted lighting on the photo on the right making a big difference,
still not happy with the light gray though.

Serial #s - on the left is AA100899, on the right AA100443.
Brown-stained top was noticeably lighter on AA100443.

Time to crank up some Petty on the way to work!
