I use the "Eagle" side against my thumb, best grip that way. The tone and feel improve as the pick warms up.

Yes, a '64 silver half-dollar, now $31 at Peter's Plectrums.

I also have a '54 silver U.S. quarter-dollar that I use for my mandolin. My birth year.

I was thinking that myself, but when verifying, saw one sold for $10K plus in 2015, but there's tons of 'em on eBay for $3-5.00 or so, in "well-circulated" condition....they do fluctuate according to the "silver melt" value.

I'm thinking dreadnut may like his at as much for the high silver content as the "cool" factor.
It might actually sound better than a lot of other stuff out there.

Actually, I like it best for the tactile feel and the tone, the "cool" factor has very little to do with it.
