A while back one of our members had been posting some Guild advertisements from magazines. Everybody here on the Forum seemed to enjoy seeing them.

So I thought I would share some of my Guild Literature with you all.

This is the binder of the Literature I have accumulated over the years:

I happen to have my binder organized from newest material in the front to oldest in the back. I like it that way because I like to go back in history. I've been told this is wrong and I should have it from the oldest in the front to the newest in the back to follow the history of Guild. Any thoughts on this? (See Poll.)

Here are some random scanned catalog pages:

You need a third option in your poll. "It's my book; I'll organize it whatever the hell way I like!"

Nice

If you keep posting these pictures in ANY order, the marketing prospects of this "dinner & nausea" catalog sold by one other member are getting thinner - even though he is so friendly and keeps offering it to us time and time and time again ( every time one more last time before selling elsewhere ) - so that´s bad for him

On other had - if you share your treasure with us, then more folks will be happy - so that´s good for many.

So - please - just keep them coming in any order that suits you.

Thank you

Well I think my "New to Old" came about because when I started the binder Guild was still producing literature. Therefore when I got some new stuff it was easier to just put it on top. (Yes, it's been that long in the making!)

Ah, that makes sense! I was wondering how that order came about...

If it was a book about history of Guild products true chronological order would be appropriate.
As a collection of marketing lit I think reverse chronology is actually more appropriate.
You could compare it to how spec changes on a product are stored. The latest spec change is always on top.

OK, for the next installment on this thread because you all seemed to enjoy seeing some early Guild magazine ads from the other threads, I thought we'd do some later ones.

These are from around 1979:

In case you're wondering about the dotted rectangles, they just happen to be 8" x 10"! This means you can cut the ad out of the magazine and stick it in a picture frame! It's genius I tell you!

I like the "For information leading to the apprehension of these products, write:" & "I want to do justice to my music."

You should organize the book in whatever way makes it easier for you to find stuff when I relentlessly harass you for information. :wink-new:
