Could you tell me where I can find out how to identify the model # of my 1973 Guild?. The label fell off years ago.
Thanks

I moved your thread to a slightly more helpful area.

First of all, what kind of Guild is it? Acoustic, electric or gutstring? Is it a flatback or an arched back? Can you host some pics somewhere and link to them? Do you have a serial number you can post?
And, welcome to the forum!

HI blue dart, welcome aboard!

What Default was getting at is that Guilds normally don't have the model on 'em anywhere but the label, except for some of the electrics which got 'em engraved on the truss rod cover.
What you do have here is a bunch of guys that can ID 'em by build details including the shape of the headstock, the body style, and the body woods.
It's a whole lot easier with photos, except for id'ing the body woods in some cases.
You'll need to find a hosting site for pics like Imgur or WordPress, then you can link to those photos from here.
Another idea occurs to me, that perhaps you'll see something that'll help, here:

OK my friend, they're having you on a bit.
The problem with s/ns from that period is that there's no correlation to models, the records only show first and last number by year:
http://guildguitars.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/history_of_your_guild.pdf
That's why pics are the best method, for most of us anyway.
We DO have a member, Hans Moust, who might be able to ID it purely by s/n, but he's probably the only person in the world who could, no joking.
He literally wrote the book about Guilds up through '78, "the Guild Guitar Book".
You can reach him here if taking and posting pics are a problem:

Yep. For those years, we no longer know the models got which serial numbers, so a picture will be important. Unless Hans knows. And he just might. He still likes pictures as much as we do.

E-mail me some pictures and I can post them. I gots me a web server thingy.
