They don't get much respect here -- or at least they're not talked about much -- but the 1512 and 2512 are both very good guitars. I currently tour with a 1512 -- intonation and action are perfect, and they sound great.
I daresay I know from what I speak -- I have an F512, F412, a couple F212s (one Hoboken), a JF30-12, and the best sounding of all, an F212XL, first year production model from 1966. Beats everything else hands-down, sound-wise. MGPP (More Growl Per Pound) than any other 12-string I've ever played.
But the 1512 and 2512 have lots to recommend them -- they sport contemporary neck profiles and are relatively easy to play up and down the fretboard, and don't suffer the slight intonation problems you often encounter on 40 / 50 year old instruments. And you can find 'em pretty cheap.
Can't remember if mine have block inlays, but I'll check!
