Hello All, I have a De Armond M70, s/n KC9072501, with Gold Foil pickups. I've been trying to track down info on the De Armond M70, and most of what I've found is over 10 years old. From what I gather it was produced in Korea, in 1999 (July), according to one source re: decoding De Armond serial numbers. I'm hip to the story behind the De Armond by Guild line and how it coincided with Fender's acquisition of Guild, at that time. It plays like a champ and I love this bad boy! If anyone has any details on the De Armond M70 it would greatly be appreciated! Any ideas what the fetch $$$?

Welcome to LTG! Indeed, produced in Korea in the Cort (Cor-Tek) factory. (hence KC). FMIC (Fender) owned DeArmond and Guild at that time.

The M-70 was a new model for 1999.

You can download parts of a 1999 DeArmond catalog directly from Fender: https://support.fender.com/hc/en-us/article_attachments/115008202063/1999_DeArmond_Catalog.pdf

The 1999 price list can be found here: https://support.fender.com/hc/en-us...5008103066/DeArmond_Price_List__June_1999.pdf

The specs for the M-70 can also be found on the Fender webpage: https://support.fender.com/hc/en-us/article_attachments/115008201963/1998_DeArmond_Specs.pdf
EDIT: Sorry, I included the wrong link for 1998 specs! Here's the correct one for the M-70: https://support.fender.com/hc/en-us/article_attachments/115008202083/1999_DeArmond_Specs.pdf

CMG (Cordoba Music Group) in Santa Monica/CA bought both brands Guild and DeArmond from FMIC in 2014: http://cordobamusicgroup.com/brands/dearmond

Ralf got you pretty much all the relevant info there already.
Only thing I can think to add is that I'm pretty sure what was left of the M70 body/neck husks at the factory became Squier M70 guitars a few years after. A good friend of mine up in Buffalo has one he swears by. I modified it for him with some better tuners, pickup upgrades, and coil-tapping switches years ago, while we were in college together. Now his band tours and has even had some international exposure/success, still he plays his Squier M70. Definitely speaks volumes about the build quality of these guitars!

Welcome Wompdang!
Not that we're particularly fussy about such issues here, but you'll probably get more views and replies if this was moved to the proper forum, "Solidbodies".
You can ask a mod to do that in the forums "Private Message" function, if they don't see this first.
