I was longing for an sj200 but instead found an f50 blonde. I have not looked back. The Guild sounds better everytime I play it.

Congratulations!

Congrats! I’m a huge F50R fan. I have 2 mid ‘70’s F50R’s as well as a couple of old Martins and I use Elixir lights exclusively on all of them. Incidentally, one of my Martin’s is a prewar ‘bone, and I still prefer the the sound of my F50R.

I'm thinking the gentlest of car polish cleaning compounds might be worth a try if it's in an area that's not that exposed. Something with very, very (did I say "very??") slight abrasiveness. That said, watch out for silicone additives. I wouldn't use any 0000 steel wool as that will likely scratch the finish.

You definitely should try some naphtha first if you can get it somewhere.
