Hi!

I Love my Guild x-175 but I've got some big Problems with the Volume difference between the Strings..
I've play Thomastik Swing 11s strings.. love theese Flatwound strings! But tht Plain B and E strings have way to much oputput :(
I've tried to Adjust the Pole Pieces, B and E all the way down, but they have to much Volume..
My sting action is about 2,5mm at 12th Fret and my I'm Playing most Time Jump Blues, Swing and Rockabilly

Maybe I need Spacers under the Pickups? The Space between the Strings and the Pickups is on High E and low E the Same.
I'm thinking for an Piclup change to Frailin P90 but I like the Franz Pickups with a little more Twang!

Thanks for Help!
Greetings from Germany,
Daniel

I'd do the opposite, and have done the opposite on my Newark street X175 - I had my luthier deepen the little rout where the neck pickup sits so I can lower it a little. I have double-stick taped mouse pad material strips to the bracing for the pickup baseplate "ears" to sit on, and that gives me more adustability.

In don't play flats so I don't have your exact problem ,but I think lowering the whole neck pickup at an angle so the bass strings are closer to the pickup might do the trick. If you use spacers and get the pickup too close too the strings it might get woofy and farty sounding.

I've got the very same flatwounds on my Jazzmaster, and to balance the string volumes I've lowered the pickups some at the treble end and raised 'em up quite a bit at the bass end. They're so tilted it's almost comical but the guitar sounds great.
