I drove to the Guild dealer in Ventura Ca and picked up the my new D-55! I had requested from Guitar 48, local Guild dealer, the most recent made and the people
at Guild Guitar in Oxnard and Rob the guitar dealer came through! I called the Córdoba corporate office in Santa Mónica to inquiry on the build date and indeed was told
final assembly was in the 2nd week of May.

I had a Tacoma 2006 brand new one and that one was so great. I sold it! Miss it, So since I have built up my Martin & Gibson guitarsenal
it was time to focus on the California made Guild's! What I really enjoyed was the quick factory to dealer time and then to my hands.
3 days it took! Shipped on Monday June 4 arrived to the t guitar shop today Wednesday June 6! Rob the owner called and there I was in an hour
fighting Los Ángeles traffic! 40% off list, real good price!

I have a 2018 Gibson Advanced Jumbo that arrived 2 weeks ago dropped shipped from the Gibson Bozeman factory. I can say that AJ compared to the D-55 are slightly different sounding guitars. While at the comparison, I pulled my other 2 most recent Martin's: Centennial and D-21 Special The 3 rosewoods all sound true to their built, heritage. Each having their own unique characteristics!

Initial D-55 impressions. The built is first class. I thoroughly inspected it. 100% pass. Now for the sound. It brought back memories of my 2006. Powerful projection with clean articulation with that classic Guild D-55 throating sound!! I can only imagine the sound as it opens up!

Overall a very pleasant New Guitar Day experience. Thank you Rob at Guitar 48 in Ventura California and Guild guitar on building a very powerful and enjoying guitar!

Dude, I've been gone for a long a$$ time but couldn't you go through Filmore and Santa Paula and get there quicker, without LA traffic??? Either way, congrats on a great NGD!! I know it's a pain in the a$$ to post photos here but as we say...... without photos, it never happened!!! LOL!!

So exciting to see new guitars coming out of Oxnard. I doubt anyone here (save a few) knew there was a city named Oxnard until Cordoba built their Guild factory there!!

Host photos elsewhere, paste the DIRECT link after you hit the Insert Image icon!!

Congrats on an epic Guild!! :encouragement:

I'm waiting for them to change the name to Rancho Oxnard or Santa Oxnard or something classier sounding , like some California cities have.

I took several pics thinking I could post them but this site is so old century. I guess the servers don't have the storage capacity.
Thank you so much.

That's funny! Remember much of the west was of México. Before that for several hundred years from Spain. This native American area!
Saludos amigo!!

No. It is a conscious and deliberate decision on the part of the individual who owns and pays for the site. The reason is rooted in liability - if LTG does not host pictures then LTG cannot be accused of distributing child porn or material that violates copyrights, for example.

Host them elsewhere and link to them here.

Veering wildly away here, the name's been indelibly etched on my memory ever since I was a young tad in North Hollywood.
"Oxnard Street Elementary School", 10912 Oxnard St, North Hollywood CA:

Imagine my surprise when I spotted it still standing during a Google Earth Satellite View flyover just a couple of months ago!
Figured it would have been apartment buildings or a shopping center by now.
Anyway, I still think it's right up there with Prairie Oyster, Montana when it come to evocative images in place names.

Congrats on the D-55, and thanks for the report. It is indeed good to hear Oxnard is paying attention to fine details as well as major ones.
