My friend Scott is having in-home Hospice Care as of today. On Wednesday, several of us are going to his house to serenade him. Scott has been a solid, dependable music leader with us at Faith Hospice and at several Alzheimer's facilities over the past 15 years. He has also been a great mentor to many guitar players, including me.

Sympathies for Scott, his family, and you & your friends.

What a cool thing to do, bringing some music to his home! A very nice way to celebrate your friendship.

About 40 people showed up at Scott and Linda's house for the serenade. Several guitars and a violin too. He held his old D-40 and played as much as he could, but he's not long for this world. Cancer sucks.

What a wonderful thing to do for your dear friend Dread. Just want you to know that you, your family, Scott, his family, and all of your friends are in our thoughts and prayers down here in Texas tonight.

In one respect, I always hate hearing things like this. I'm sure it's tough for your friend but likely tougher for those that remain behind. I truly believe better days are ahead for Scott and both of you are lucky to have each other in your lives. God bless.

Music is an amazing thing. It can make happy times better and hard times bearable. You and Scott and friends have something very special. These memories will be forever. Treasure them.

Our thoughts are with you.
