The old LPs with humbuckers I've played sound a lot like old Teles. The LPs are lighter & brighter sounding than most folks realize while the blackguard Teles are darker & thicker. IMO Strats sound like Strats. :)

Speaking of fingernails, I like how Hammett and the interviewer talk about the "wear marks" below the strings from Moore - photos before and after Moore owned it shows that he made them.

Here's another '59 Les Paul - Jimmy Page's "Number 1". Here he talks about it, also mentioning Peter Green. This is right before Gibson takes it away to replicate it:

Kirk gushing over a 59 played unplugged, while on tour using Axe-FX live to those paying $130 minimum for a ticket.....Priceless.

Is it time to whip out the old chestnut about how Green had his pickups wired out of phase, thus the "sweet watery tone", or was that covered in the interview (s)?
In fact I seem to recall an article years ago stating it was entirely accidental.
And "sweet watery" sure don't describe "Oh Well" or "Green Manalishi".....but it's possible the guitar was "switched around" at various times, too.
Ah... here it is:
