OK it's not as if I haven't made some obscure connects in my time but that one stumps me unless it's about "colors" as in rubies are red...

And that one, my friend, has me well and truly stumped...

Whew ... it's not just me ...

Well yeah "ruby" is actually considered a color...

I'm stumped on "Dizzy" as well though.

Well, I've successfully eliminated the possibility that the Wrecking Crew performed on both songs...
could it possibly be related to (grizzly and brown) bears' well-known love of (salmon) Roe?

"My song can eat your song for breakfast!"

Speaking of which:
"Good Morning Good Morning"-the Beatles
(Inspiration for the song came to Lennon from a television commercial for Kellogg's Corn Flakes)

I am stumped on "Dizzy" as well. Maybe (a stretch!) Tommy Roe, and Roe is another name for caviar, and caviar can be black, hence "Black Bears". Or not.

"Meet Me At Midnight Mary," Joey Powers, 1963.

Mary Mary - Monkees

My # 4865 Animals was meant for Al's # 4863 Monkees - but RUBY got between - I like the explanation of Ruby being color - but admit that I was leaping - shame on me

As for DIZZY - I was just hitting hay and got some brilliant idea, which I do not remember anymore - but it was a well-thought connection - methiks.
