Hello

I found old paper cover of Guild M-450 string set - on the inside I have a marking B-1250.

13/13 - 17/17 - 24/10 - 29/13 - 39/18 - 49/29

Then there´s another - if it was a factory set or one of my owns - too long ago and lousy bookkeeping.

13/13 - 17/17 - 26/10 - 36/17 - 46/21 - 58/36

Latter could be my own "construction" based on M-450 6-string set - have then calculated matching octaves - then tune it all C-F-Bb-Eb-G-C - or even B-E-A-D-F#-B - makes the guitar sound really big and deep.

I use a wound octave A, too. Don't remember what came on my F-212, it's been 50 years after all. However, I don't remember what came on the 512, either, and that's a lot less time.
There aren't many sets that come that way, though.
Brad

I have been using a wound octave A on my F512 too, and these are one of the few sets you can find. I like them, too.

Thanks all.

Price was ridiculously low so I took another gamble. But man you'd think they'd put on some new strings on this.

It's a pooch but I like dogs. Sounded pretty nice in spite of the rusty cruddy dirty strings. After taxes tonight I'll have all weekend to clean it up.

Funny, I have much less angst keeping this than my 3 high end NH Guilds. Guess I just like old cars, old bourbon, a certain 56 year old woman and a guitar I don't have to worry about.

But at least for now I have an equal number of Westerly and NH.

BeeCee: "Really honey, I needed one more to even out the collection"

RCee: "Yeah ""honey"" how about 1 and 1"?

You now have your Maple/Rosewood/Hog covered. You should find some creative way to knock your Westerly/NH balance off again so you can continue hunting...
Enjoy the 212. What bourbon pairs well with it?

My buddy pulled out his '77 lefty F-112 and played it the other day, it does not have a Chesterfield headstock.

Any answers to why some have the Chesterfield headstock and some don't?

Sorry, I lied. My buddy's lefty F-112 DOES have a Chesterfield headstock inlay. Geez, how did I miss that?
