Congratulations Eric! Is this the same one I saw at Mike's a couple of weeks back?
And BTW, how many 12ers does that make in Chez Eric?
yup! can't possibly look the same as when u saw it at Mikes, since it is currently all in one piece!
for 12 strings now I have:
1970 F-112, just rescued and restored/set up- KEEPER
1975 F-112, as found is 9+ out of 10 cosmetic and structural, case and all (polishing cloth, reciept from Mannys...), needs the once over from mad Mike and a quick test drive from yours trully...then shes probably history, in all likelihood.
1980 G-312 just found in excellent condition and set up by Mike. It has brand new 10s and I wish I used 9s, so the fate of this one is still unknown. It does not feel or sound like my 1970 baby but I am drawn to it nonetheless- with a sound all its own. it will need a string change for a fair chance.its a little chunky and heavy for me as well. this one will linger for at least a while before any real opportunity to dig in and make a decision.
I used to own a really nice 1979 F-412. I do a little biz w Sam Ash, and this guitar wound up in the personal collection of "Sammy Ash," the grandson, or possibly great grand son, of the founder, which I couldn't be any happier about. That guitar looked unreal and sounded amazing when other people played it- just wasnt a lifer for me.
i was about to pop on that D-15-12 on reverb, after playing a Chinese Fender Tim Armstron model mahogany top 12-sting in a shop last weekend... and thankfully somone beat me to it (one of y'all???)
