Title says it all. Mostly :)

A friend found a beat-up '70s F-112 NT that needs a case. I may buy it. What are good cases for F-112 guitars?

Thanks, gil'

I sold the guitar at the Arlington show for my friend.

The guitar was gruesome, very dirty with lots of finish wear. The neck was cracked under the treble-side dual truss rod from the 3rd to the 7th fret, the neck set was terrible even after the Braz rosewood bridge had been severely cut down (ruined, actually) and the action was still so high that the guitar was unable to play in tune in the first five frets.

The body was beat, tons of mars and scratches. It never would have cleaned up. A realistic charge from a professional luthier would have been $700-800. At the same time, the guitar would have been worth $450-500 after repair.

Of course, my luthier would have charged me less, because we've known each other for 30 years and done a zillion projects together. And of course, as his friend, I couldn't let him do that.

I didn't have the heart to do it to one you folks either, so I punted at the show.

Thanks for the case info, gil'
