Any one else having a similar issue?
I have an S200 Thunderbird, which I absolutely love.
Had it for about a year now, and have recently noticed the chrome finish on one of the pickups is fading.
The guitar doesn't sit in the sun all day and I haven't used any 'cleaning' agents on it, so I'm a bit baffled by what's happening.

What is showing through the chrome? If loosing its luster maybe it needs a cleaning. I often use a stainless steel cleaner for chrome parts.

0000 steel wool is the go-to for chrome, but its fibers will stick like crazy to a pickup, so expect some cleanup (masking tape works well). Any chance these are nickel, rather than chrome, covers? Nickel will tend to dull out pretty quickly and there's not a ton you can do about it.

Thanks for the reply.
It looks like these covers are plastic with chrome finish.
What is showing through seems to be the opaque whitish plastic underneath.

Sounds like Cordoba made some design changes to the pickups as to the best of my knowledge when the LB-1 pickups were owned and distributed by Fender the pickup covers were metal weren't they?

Suprised to hear the pickup cover is plastic. Maybe it is "white metal" with chrome plating. White metal is an allow typically used for making cheap trinket jewerly and small metal toys and parts. Typically they are cast metal parts thst will easily snap and break if you try to bend them.

Have sent this off to Guild too.
Their reply is that I need to purchase a complete new pickup, as the covers are not available separately.
I queried that surely this should be covered under warranty as the instrument is under a year old.
No reply to that query...
Is the Honeymoon over.

Can you post a pic of that? If it's plastic, l am a little disturbed by that.

Hi, thanks for that.

I've done that: LB 1 Fading Picture.
Still - going to try and attach it here too, just for my own future reference
Thanks for the assistance, interested to read what your thoughts are.
