Doesn't really look like an Ovation 12-string to me, but anyway .... it's a Guild FS46-12CE; one of our members with the same name has (or had) one and might be willing to tell you something about it.

Sincerely,

Hans Moust

Nice to see the twin blonde-tolex Bassman amps are a constant...very un-Setzer-like tune, very pop...80's?

Yup. It was probably 84-86 era and his first solo project post Stray Cats. Here he is from the same era playing a Tele:

Bass player's having a good time. :)

Just noticed the Beesley book page Krysh linked to doesn't show size like it does on the other A/E's, but being a "40" series I'm pretty confident it'll have the 16" lower bout of all the other Fxxce's.
With a narrow waist and shallow body it'll actually be pretty comfortable.
Your long neck comments surprises me, because that's a shortscale neck for a Guild acoustic.
Or did you get this mixed up with Acorn's jumbo junior bass post?

It's a 24-fret acoustic. I've never seen that. Perhaps long fretboard would be better than long neck.

It's not an acoustic...it's a chambered solid body...and you're being fooled visually by the extreme cutaway and maybe the camera angle.

The F45 and F45 12 string are acoustic 24 fret short scale guitars...look at Grot's pic earlier in the thread.

They don't feel like an acoustic guitar. With the 24 fret bound neck ad weight they play like an large body electric. If you don't buy that one GAD, would you like to borrow one for a while????

Do you *have* to have a mullet to play that guitar? :)

No but it makes you look a lot cooler playing such a weird guitar!

I have 30.5" scale basses with 21 frets and with 24. Going for 24 was originally a "why not?" decision but over a year later it is much easier to play above the 12th fret. That may just be the ergonomics of the cutaway but I like the long fretboard. Shifting between a 34" w/19 frets and a 30.5" w/22 frets is harder than using the longer fretboard for me. YMMV.

Wait, that's not an acoustic? It looks like one and is named/numbered like one. Why would a solid body have a glued on bridge like that?

So many questions.
