So, I'm toying w the idea of bypassing the "tone suck" circuit on my '67 Starfire II but before I do, i want to ask those who've done it (and those in the know) if they really noticed a difference after doing so before i go on my "fishing expedition".

thanks in advance!

Everyone who has done it is going to ask you why you waited so long. twocorgis and mgod are two folks who can speak from personal experience. Maybe mavuser as well, but I don't trust my memory. fixit did the surgery for twocorgis and I'm sure he has some before/after opinions to share.

Yes it makes a huge difference. It literally sucks out a lot of treble and volume from the neck pickup. It drove my insane the first few months of owning my bass. Get rid of it as soon as possible lol.

Here is the thread I made when I got my bass and it chronicles the pain and agony, and also shows a lot of what is going on under the hood.
