Want to know why you can't find any HB-1s?

Of course, they're not all vintage HB1s. There's SD-1s, XR-7s, new HB1s, Fender HB-1s, and even a some minis.

Yow, I thought I was bad for buying a couple spare sets of Maxon U-1000s ("Super 70"s when made for Ibanez) after getting a pair of guitars with 'em and being blown away by how good they are. These things nail the attack and treble response of a good set of genuine PAFs. Which is likely why you can find 'em sans guitar: folks pull 'em out 'cuz they're "too bright." :triumphant:

Wouldn't mind having a spare set of '70s HB-1s either!

Also, when I'm done with them I'll dump them onto the used market thus crushing the selling price and corner the market! *

I've only got the pair, recently taken from the S-275 I reviewed, though when I'm done I may let them go.

I will trade you them both for the Nightingale. :cool:

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. I spent 34 years of my life in Finance, mainly working with Product and Process Engineers. You and I might not have gotten along all that well.
