I have a set of signed Abby Ybarra Custom Shop 69 pickups in my Black 87 American Strat That are Awesome! I am also a big fan of MJ at the Seymour Duncan Custom Shop as she has wound a few sets of different pickups for me as well. In my book those are the two leading ladies of the pickup world.

Cool that Abby still has the winding bug. My Jazzmaster, Jaguar & Mustang ('65–'66) all have dated AY pickups. A '67 Strat I once owned had 'em too. Makes me smile to know there are these little secrets—I was here, I did this, I exist—hiding beneath the pickguards. :)

Here's a video of here winding a pickup while a terrible interviewer asks her questions:

And how would a person get an Abby pickup or two ?

I love the idea that she is thinking of starting her own business, at 80.

I've seen "Abby" and AY pickup sets for sale on Reverb as well as the other place. Mostly overpriced IMO. I think the "Abby"s were marketed as such while the more recent AY's are just Custom Shop stuff that happened to be wound by her. All the vintage Abbys I've seen are initialed rather than signed.
