Fooling with Guy Clak's Cold Dog Soup yesterday, and came across this video of James McMurtry covering it. The occasion was Guy's 70th birthday;

Don't know if this has been posted before.

McMurtry is Guild man from way back and one of my 5 favorite songwriters of all time. Guy is not far down the list.

I was reading an interview with Curtis McMurty ( his son and a good songwriter himself ) and he remarked that his father encouraged him to play guilds as they sound great and are tough as nails. In the photo he had a maple JF30.

Always nice to see your heroes playing this brand.

Had to watch this vid again. Looks Like a d25.. My most enjoyable concert to date is McMurty at Poor Davids Pub in Dallas back 2003 or 2004. It was an acoustic show. He had a wine red and a green JF30 and he played them both during the set. You could hear a pin drop in the place... it was a show that helped shape me as a songwriter...

Sorry drone on about JM. Where'd You Hide the Body is one of the greatest Americana / Roots Rock albums of all time..

That is all.
