Thanks to a very kind gesture on Walking Man's part, I now have my first Hoboken Guild: A 1961 F-40B. For a guitar that is only a few years younger than I am old, it is in fine shape, and certainly has fewer scars than I do. It joins another of Walking Man's herd, a D-35 that spent more than a year in the fevered hands of one of my nephews as a long term loaner because no teenage boy should be without a guitar. I have not had them both uncased at the same time, but when I do I expect the first glimmer of recognition will slowly swell to the comfort and ease with which old friends settle back into easy familiarity.

Mike was wonderful to do business with, and wins my prize for best-packed guitar. Ever.

And, since it can't happen without pictures:

What a beauty. Love that old classic headstock. 1961? Amazing.
