I came across this http://newatlas.com/most-valuable-guitars-ever-sold/38147/ while searching for something else. Even though it is dated November 2015 it is kind of interesting. No Guilds that I noticed. Only one bass - a Hofner of Sir Paul's. A Martin owned by Roy Rogers placed on the list which is surprising because not many people remember Roy Rogers and Dale Evans unless they were in an area where the Roy Rogers fast food franchises flourished.

I can't believe that Gibson Explorer went for so much without any star provenance. That's shocking to me.

I grew up watching the Roy Rogers show every Saturday morning...

That was cool. Thanks for sharing it.

The list is dominated by solid-body electrics. Surprised not to see some of the early Martins from the 1830's and 1840's.

I live in the town where Roy Rogers lived. The bowling alley, a mile away, used to be the Roy Rogers museum. On occasion, you would see Dale in town, with her pink hair.
