Newark Street Serial Numbers

Are the 1st 2 digits representative of the model year? Example KGS16xxxxx would be a 2016?

There is another Capri I am looking at and the dealer says he just got it from reverend in November but the Serial number is KGS14xxxxx which does not jive what i am seeing on the internet.

My NS X175-B is a 2013. It's S/N starts " KSG1200 ". So, it could have been assembled in 2012 and sold in 2013.
