In your review the X175 was essentially an X500 with less bling, and that's true. I think the main difference between the two is that (up until 1976, apparently) the 175 had a mahogany neck, not the X500's multi-piece maple neck. That's the one difference that might actually make them sound different (and not just look different)



Picking nits - you mention the X500T's bridge is "all brass" - those Bigsby bridges with the one piece metal saddle and metal base are aluminium, AFAIK.


Ooh - good catch. I constantly get in trouble calling brass-colored things brass.

I hate to see you suffer with that X500T - let me know if you just can't stand it anymore. I'll give it a good home. (I realize I'm at least second in line...)
