Me too. To be honest, Lindsey's picking in Landslide is a good one to start with. It's basically the same pattern throughout. Check out the youtube channel for "Shut Up and Play" where her goes over that song.

Those lessons are so excellent. I've been working on Never Going Back Again for months. I've been using my own limited picking style, but if I'm going to spend so much time learning these, I've got to get that third finger in there and just work on getting that picking right! Those vids show how to do it. It's just a matter of getting the fingers to go automatic.

Kerry Livgren of Kansas uses Travis picking throughout 'Dust in the Wind'. He developed the pattern as a fingerpicking exercise. His wife overheard him practicing and remarked 'That sounds nice, why don't you turn it into a song?'

I'm usually not a stickler for playing things 'the right way' but learning this song the way Livgren plays it really opens up doors, once mastered. It took me a long, long time to get it right but once you get the pattern down it flows beautifully. Simple chords really, it's the Travis picking that is the key.

Anyone interested in learning Travis picking can use the following link (there's a part 1 & part 2) to get it down. It's the most useful I found among the many youtube demonstrations.
