Hi, sadly I am a bit of an REM equipment obsessive.
This for me got Mike his best bass sound live.

Can anyone tell me anything about it, model, spec etc?

Does anyone know where it is ?

I think it's a Pilot, I could well be wrong!

Definitely a Pilot. Beyond that my to assign a date or model number is limited at the moment. Maybe someone will come along and save me from a trip to my reference material :)

It's a "transitional" model like one I have since it doesn't have a pickguard, but still has the plastic knobs instead of the metal knurled knobs.

It appears to have a "foot" headstock as opposed to a "Cake Knife".

Fables of the Reconstruction, great album by REM, 1985...Green Grow the Rushes was my fave song for a while. So cool sounding.
Other than Document, Fables was in my top 3 fave REM albums.

Murmur for me will always be #1 :)

I'm not so sure it is a Purple Burst as there's a lot on purple on his shirt and face which would be coming from stage lighting. It could be as Guild did stuff like that.

Here is a photo of my Blue Burst. Under red/purple lights they would probably look purple.
