I like shortscales, but was wondering.

Pilots were all 34" scale, as was the B54 acoustic bass from New Hartford. I believe the B30x and B40x were also long scale.

Yep. Since someone else mentioned everything I can think of I well add the observation that when people see a pic of a long scale JS they don't really know what they are looking at. The bridge placement looks wrong, to someone used to a short scale JS but you have to count the frets to confirm the ID,

My Pilot 5's have all been 35" scale. Same as the Lakland 55-01 and 02's I owned. I suspect that is why the B has such authority.
