Local Craigslist has a 50's Guild A-100 with what looks like a single P-90...I'm guessing a Franz pickup? Seller says it 'books' for $1100 and is asking $980, looks to be in pretty good shape with an original case, but I can't find a thing about them on the interwebs. I haven't contacted the seller yet, partly because I just blew my wad on a '05 Gretsch Tennessee Rose with Hilotrons and don't have any $$$, but it does look interesting! Anybody know anything about these and is that a good price?

Is it sunburst, no cutaway? That would fit as an X-100. I didn't see any A-100 models in the book, but it might have been a very short lived model and I missed it.
Can you post the link?

Hmmm, unless there's a mention in Hans' book I've forgotten about (which is quite possible!) I suspect the guitar is an A-150. Price sounds about right for an A-150 too. It's a good basic electric archtop hollowbody.

Edit: oh yeah, could be an X-100. Those are rare, though.

Looks like an early CE-100 to me, before they added the second pup. It would be nice to see the label close-up, but that's my bet. Looks just like mine; wonderful guitar, well worth that price.

Agreed. The seller must be misreading the "CE" for an "A".

A '61 by the serial number. I am confused by the lack of binding on the back; which my '57 has.

Looks to me more like a T-100....slim body, strip tuners, dot markers and no back binding.

I'm with you, ziz. I tried to mention the dot markers earlier, but as I was editing my last post my phone ran out of juice. I knew someone else would pick up on that.

Good eye, gentlemen! Also, it seems easier to misread a "T" as an "A". Since my opinion matters little anyway, I am officially changing it to a T-100.

That makes sense. I'm not as familiar with the T and from the one pic didn't know if it was thin enough.

Well its a nice looking T-100 at that......be it ever so humble its one of my favorite Guild models.

.....the prospects of the possible existence of the unheard of "A-100" did get our attention.
I was imagining the early 17" non-cutaway X-100, but as an acoustic with a carved spruce top....some sort of one-off never seen before.
One could want and certainly wish!

After looking around The interwebs, I believe Zizala is correct, it is a T-100...
