Cleaning out some old "stuff", and stumbled across this list in an old old email.
There seems to be a touch of cowboy laconicism adding some flavor.
Ok I know no self-respecting cowboy would ever use a word like "laconic", even though they obviously know what it means.....anyway, forward:
"Never squat with your spurs on"
"Never kick a cowchip on a hot day"
"Always drink upstream from the herd"
"Good judgement comes from experience, and a lot of that comes from bad judgement"
"If you get to thinking you're a person of some influence, try ordering someone else's dog around"
"If you're riding ahead of the herd, take a look back every now and then to make sure it's still there"
"There are 3 kinds of men: The ones who learn by reading. The ones who learn by observation.
And the ones who have to pee on the electric fence for themselves."
And finally, my favorite:
"Never slap a man who's chewing tobacco"
