I'm probably the only person who bought Lori Lieberman's album. I'm sure it's in that TRUCKLOAD of records I got rid of last year. It had "Killing Me Softly" on it. A tedious song, at best. It was Don McLean's shining hour. There are some songs that you've heard enough in your life, that.... you never want to or need to hear them again. They're different for everyone.

Those are TWO really good examples of songs to NEVER HEAR AGAIN!! Good work guys!! :encouragement: I think those are just bad songs. But what about a song that is, generally, a good song. Or at least an okay song, but you've heard it so many times that you're just over it. One of my contributions to that list would be Hotel California. Yup.

I just don't want to hear it any more. Ever.

+1 fro Hotel California.

And to paraphrase Joe, just about anything by the Doors.

If I could never hear Killing Me Softly ever again, that would be nice...

So, I've become a unit of measure that can be incremented?

Disagree with you about the Doors but we can easily agree to disagree, at least until you are in my space and I am picking the music.

I been listening to their greatest hits album lately. Touch Me is one of my faves! Morrison sounds like Sinatra or an old day crooner on that song. it is almost humorous.

I'm with ya, Sandy! If I never hear it again, it's fine with me.

To promote the auction, according to Christie's, McLean is "one the foremost singer-songwriters of his generation". Say what??

Did he srite anything else? We could put him on stage with Arlo Guthry and have the shortest concert ever! Alice's Restaurant would be the encore!

Don McLean was a tremendous singer/songwriter! American Pie was certainly over-played, but to me that isn't even his best song. Here is a small sample of his work, including a cover of Crying, which is one of my favorites.

I could live without hearing "Bad Company" ever again.
For some reason it's back on rotation on the static, er, classic rock station.
Either one of 'em died, or, G-d forbid, there's a reunion tour in the works...

Not a bad rendition of my favorite Don McLean.

We share the "favorite" part but I don't care for this rendition.
I enjoy it best with a single voice and a guitar. I've heard this great song overdone too many times.

Keeps it interesting that we sometimes see/hear things differently....:friendly_wink:

As far as recent songs that I never want to hear again, The top of the list would have to be that Damn Narwhal song of the sprint commercial that they play over and over. It gets stuck in your head and you just go nuts!:livid: Other than that I'll still listen to just about anything from the 50's to present.
